The history of Eforit began in 1963, when Torsti Virta, Master of Philosophy, and her spouse Kirsti Virta founded Eforit Oy. At that time, the company’s business was the import of electrical equipment and supplies, e.g. the first so-called “running” neon lights.

In 1987, the company’s industry and owners changed when Development Engineer Lauri Virta and Business Economist Soile Virta decided to continue the family business as a provider of surface treatment services for metals. The strong development of the technology industry made it possible to specialize in precious metal coatings.

Thanks to the special expertise in the surface treatment industry and the versatile service offering, Eforit Oy has enabled the production and development projects of many major companies, where you can read more about our references.

The family also includes the company’s successors, the siblings Ville, Sari and Vesa Virta, all of whom already have a long experience and education in the field. They also have a desire to continue to increase their knowledge and use of metal coatings as part of the ecological life cycle thinking of their products.

Eforit Oy is the first supporting member of the Finnish Electroplating Association and has participated in increasing the knowledge of the surface treatment industry and its techniques for several years.

The topics of the presentations have been e.g. electroplating, copper plating, silver plating and tinning, Hull cell and coatings for the printed circuit board industry.
